TrapGuard ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, what we don't collect, and how we operate.
1. Zero Data Collection
TrapGuard does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, browsing history, or user analytics to any external servers owned by the developer.
- We do not use tracking cookies.
- We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party telemetry.
- We do not record your Polymarket account details, wallet addresses, or trade history.
2. How the Extension Works (Local-Only Processing)
The Extension operates entirely locally within your browser. When you navigate to a Polymarket event page, the Extension reads the current URL to identify the market "slug". It then makes direct, public API requests to Polymarket's official endpoints. No data is ever routed through, logged by, or stored on servers owned by the TrapGuard developer. All mathematical analysis is processed locally on your machine to display the Slippage Shield and Hype Meter.
3. Permissions Justification
- activeTab / tabs: Required to detect when you are on a
polymarket.comURL so the side panel knows when to activate and fetch market data. - sidePanel: Required to display the TrapGuard UI natively in the Chrome Side Panel without injecting code or altering the DOM of the Polymarket website itself.
- Host Permissions (polymarket.com): Required to read the URL structure to identify specific market events and extract the necessary Token IDs.
4. Third-Party APIs
The Extension communicates directly with Polymarket's public endpoints (gamma-api.polymarket.com and clob.polymarket.com). Your IP address is subject to Polymarket's own privacy policy and Cloudflare routing when making these public requests. TrapGuard does not intercept, modify, or store the responses from these APIs.
